Sofie Jimenez Galata loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on December 30, 2011 at the age of 91. She is preceded in death by her husband Frank B. Galata Sr., son Frank Galata Jr., daughter Patsy Pineda, parents Santos and Petra (Vargas) Jimenez and three sisters. Survivors include her daughters; Gloria Garcia and Sylvia S. Venegas and sons; Jesse Dunn (Gloria), Anthony Galata (Dee), Richard Galata (Ana), son in law Frank Pineda Sr., 25 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and friends. Visitation for Sofie will be at Mission Park Funeral Chapel South, Tuesday January 3, 2012 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. The Funeral will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday January 4, 2011 at Mission Park. The interment will follow at Mission Burial Park South.
